Bernie is Nop’s Metal Works Master Blacksmith. His extensive knowledge and education in metal joining and fabrication is a cornerstone of the company.
Bernie was born and raised in the German Democratic Republic (East Germany), and emigrated to the United States in the early 90’s. He apprenticed for three years under a master blacksmith while in East Germany, gaining the Master title himself. Bernie has worked for various large and small firms, and has over 25 years of practical experience - including a stint where he worked as a certified welder in Russia on the natural gas pipeline. This job entailed highly skilled welding, by only government certified technicians.
Bernie has been employed at Nop’s Metal Works for over 3 years. Being that he loves being outside, winter camping and hiking, he is very happy to make Vermont his home.
